A screening plant is a mining and construction equipment used for separating job-site refuse such as metal, plastic, wood, concrete and more. The separated concrete and asphalt are recycled and reused, thus, the equipment is highly useful. The plant comes in different makes and models.Generally, a screener has a hopper feed conveyor, spacious transport and working dimensions, a discharge conveyor and a screen box deck. However, some makes are wheel mounted, while others are track mounted.
The Spyder 516T and Spyder 512T, for instance, are mounted on tracks and are designed to screen aggregates to produce three different sizes of refuse simultaneously. On the other hand, others, such as the Scraper 107T tracked screener, are designed to screen heavy rocks, sand and soils. The power- screen make, model CHIEFTAIL 600, is wheel-mounted. This make has spacious working dimensions of 44’6 long, 15’6 tall and 36’8 wide with 235/75R X 17.5 tires, 3 screen box decks, 3 product discharge conveyors and a wide hopper feed conveyor. An alternative to the latter model is the new vibration screening plant; it adopts the eccentric vibration exciter to adjust its amplitude. The screener has cycle vibration making it specialized for quarry-jobs.
